...Life Goes On

Sorry I have been gone, things start looking up for us and then you hit rock bottom again. Last month we received some news that no parent wants to hear, our daughter may have autism. She has an evaluation later this month and since her initial evaluation, she has started speech therapy once a week. She was diagnosed with apraxia of speech and she is doing amazing on the program they started a few weeks ago. I feel like things were just starting to get better with my husband. He has started weekly therapy appointments and things were feeling "normal". Our county also has a special education class that is part of the public school system. We are going in later this month to see if she is eligible for the classes they offer. I would hate to see her go to school so early, but I know it would be the best thing for her.

Right now we are working on learning her all over again, she is an amazing and such a smart brilliant little girl. She knows her ABC's and 123's. She has also started writing her name, even though she has never said her name before.

Also, the other night while we were turning out her lights for bed, she said the most amazing sentence that I have been waiting to hear for my whole life, "I love you MOMMY!". Yes I cried and kept asking her to tell me she loved me again and again until she finally said "Mommy, I night-night".

I love her so much!

Breakfast with Santa

We took the kids to eat breakfast with Santa on the first, it was so amazing. Miss A really enjoyed meeting Santa, finally. The first year she is actually going to remember him. She had a blast wearing her new dress that she picked out. This is defiantly going to be a family tradition.

I'm Back

So after taking some time off of blogging and working out, I am back. We have gone through so much as a family these past two months. With all the stress I was under I wasn't making good choices and losing weight was very difficult. I ended up gaining back 20 pounds in a matter of weeks and then added some extra on. Its very hard knowing that I am back where I started but it is my own fault and I just have to suck it up and start again.

My husband is on the right track, he is going to all of his therapy appointments but things are really hard. I am not going to lie, PTSD sucks. What hurts me the most is knowing that my husbands dreams of becoming a police officer, just flew out the door. That was his 5 year goal, to buy a home and become a police officer. My heart breaks for him, he is struggling so hard to not push us further than he has. One of the things with PTSD is that they feel so alone and even though they have family from all directions supporting them, they push them further and further to be alone.

I ordered a book tonight, I read a review off of the website and I just knew I had to get it. I really hope this helps me understand PTSD without the doctors terminology. I need to understand everything that I possibly can to help him. I wish I could do more, its just so hard.

Motivational Monday

So I was sent an email the other day telling me that my husbands health is just as important as mine. This past month I have been so focused on my husband and just gave up on myself. I gained back majority of the weight that I worked so hard to get off. I do this to myself a lot, I will lose 10+ pounds and then end up back to where I started. I am so frustrated with myself for continuing this cycle. My husband is supporting me but I feel like I need to do more for him rather than myself. He is going through so much more than I am, I just don't know how to support him through this except to put myself on the back burner and put all my extra strength into him and my children. I have been emotionally and physically exhausted. When I workout I feel so much better, I have more energy and I think clearly...I know what I have to do.

Maybe my good mood will help me, help my husband?

Invisible Wounds.

So I have taken a break from blogging for a bit for personal reasons. After our move things started going down hill for our family of four. If you have read my blog or know our family personally you would know my husband was an Infantry Marine, he has been out for close to two years now. He served two combat tours, one in Iraq and another in Afghanistan. Since he got back from his last deployment he hasn't been the same. He was not the guy that I fell in love with but I still loved him as much as the day I married him, even though he has been changed forever.

*please if you know us personally, don't think of our family any differently.
If you think you may, then stop reading.

After he returned home from Afghanistan he was severely depressed. When he wasn't working he was sleeping. We never went anywhere and when we would, it turned into a huge argument on how many people were around and him not wanting to go inside. Nine times out of ten, he would shut down and leave me in the middle of the store alone...

"Broken by battle,
Wounded by war,
I love you forever,
To you this I swore:
I will quiet your silent screams,
Help heal your shattered soul
Until once again, my love, you are whole."
-Battling Bare

My husband was diagnosed with PTSD
and our lives have been forever changed.

*I may write more about what has been going on but for now this is it. So I am sorry if I am absent for a few days to weeks at a time. I still haven't given up on my personal goals, my husbands health is just more important.

Internet

Well, we've moved and are almost settled. Just a few more boxes that we need to unpack. We don't have internet yet, we have to get it before the hubster goes to school in two weeks, but for now we are using our phones. Cell phone service isn't very good where we are so I can't write as much as I wish. I hate not having internet, all of my recipes are on pinterest and it takes 30 minutes to load a page...i think we will end up getting a new service provider. I can't bring myself to pay close to $140 bucks for phones we can't use!

Anyways, the McDonalds about a mile down the road has free WiFi so maybe I will walk over there to to post?

Here are a few things that has happened...
Little man has started full on crawling,  right in the middle of the move. He was crawling a little but he is speed crawling now!
Little Man has also gotten TWO teeth! I think he may be cutting another, he slept horribly last night. He was up every two or three hours. He is also spitting up a lot more than his normal so I think the doctor is going to need to adjust his medication. Poor thing.
Miss A knows her numbers and counts to five, she is also doing a really good job with her letters and is practicing writing (tracing) them.

I Slap Myself in the Face Every Morning

...not literally, but here lately I have found myself obsessing over the numbers on the scale. I go on a binge some days because it just slaps me in the face, every.single.day. I am an emotional eater and I need to stop this. Sometimes I step on the scale multiple times per day like its going to change or something. So I am going to step on it only once a week. I could also be eating better and I know that I am not doing everything that I can do to lose weight, so its a double slap. I have so many meals planned for when we move. I can't wait to get my pots and pans out and cook an actual meal. The, "use whatever is in the house so we don't have to move it", is getting kinda disgusting. Which are things that we would have moved with us and they would be in the pantry so its better to get it all out in two weeks rather than eating it when I am doing really good...right?

Do the Wubbzy Workout!

Today my little princess was a sick little princess so we did nothing but watch cartoons the whole day. On Pinterest I have seen some movie and TV series workouts. So I decided to make a workout for one of our most watched shows on our television, Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!...

I have done this twice today and it was interesting. My daughter thought I was going crazy and kept telling me to sit down.

I am not the creator of Wubbzy, my daughter is just a huge fan of his. All credit for the Wubbzy goodness goes to Bob Boyle and Nick Jr.. I just simply put a workout to the cute sayings the Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! producers created. Now go get your workout on, its that easy!

We Found a Townhouse!

We have FINALLY found our home for the next two years, it's an amazing three bedroom townhouse with a large kitchen and living room. We hope to move in by the middle of the month. The hubby is starting school next month is it already August??, so we hope to be settled in by then. Our new place is located right off the start of a 14 mile bike trail, perfect for the training that I have to start do. The Color Run is coming up fast and I need to get this butt into gear!

Turbo Fire isn't going as well as I hoped it would, I think its a combination of all the stress and not eating as healthy as I would like. I haven't lost much weight, 6 pounds total, and I am not really happy with that. I love this program though, that is why I am saying its the stress. I feel it working but I am not seeing results like I hoped I would see by now. I am very disappointed in myself but I will keep pushing through to the end. Hopefully once we move things will get better and we can get back into a normal routine.

I Found...

...MY KELTY CARRIER!

After having our stuff in storage for almost two years, you forget what you have. I have been finding so many things that I forgot about....like my "skinny jeans". After this find, I can't wait to get on some trails once it gets a little cooler. Hopefully Miss A will be a big girl and walk, of course we would do easy hikes for her. She loves nature and I am sure she will enjoy it. I can't believe that these pictures were taken when she was six months old.

These pictures are from our hike to Maunawili Falls in Kailua, HI. The top right picture is of the base we lived at, I would do anything to be back there right now.

We're MOVING...

We are in the process of moving to a new place right now and if you've moved then you know how time consuming that is along with trying to find somewhere to live. I am doing Turbo Fire right now and loving it, I can't do it everyday but I do it as often as I can. Once we get settled I will start training for The Color Run, I am so excited!

We were able to get family pictures taken, here are a few. It was hot and Miss A was not feeling it. She slipped right after that last picture of her. I still cant believe that Mr. E is almost SEVEN months old. Where has time gone?

TurboFire

I just made a 90 day commitment, my husband purchased TurboFire for me this evening. I am so excited to start a new program. I originally was going to do Insanity but my sister and her husband are moving next week, so I went with the program that a few others are starting in one of my support groups. I still want to do BBL and try shakeology, but right now I am going to have to stick with TF. Which I am perfectly fine with. I need something more challenging, dont get me wrong SI6 wasn't easy when I was starting off but it was just getting boring. I got the the third phase in a few weeks and I need to switch it up a little. I also need to get motivated again. Since we have been home, I havent been getting back into my old routine like I wish. I am not eating as healthy as I could and I am not really doing much working out. I want to I just have no motivation so hopefully this will change that. If I am still feeling the way I am now, then it has.

Have you finished TurboFire? I would love to see results, it helps my motivation.

We're Home!

We are home from the beach, and we had a blast! Sorry I didnt post, we thought we would have cell phone service and internet. I wish we could go back. The house was amazing and Miss A had a blast in the pool and playing in the sand. I forgot my camera at home, how can you forget that...right? I am so upset. "/

I do have to admit, I gained eight pounds. I ate a lot of junk food and didn't get to workout, unless you consider chasing a two year old up and down six flights of stairs every 10 minutes a workout. We ate out majority of the time and most of it was not very healthy. I had every intention of eating right and working out but it felt good to be able to relax and not have to worry about anything.

Now back to reality and eating healthy.

Weigh-In Wednesday and Slim In 6 Results

Slim in 6 ended today. I am going to keep doing it until I start my next program which is either going to be Insanity or Brazilian Butt Lift. My beachbody coach is doing a challenge group starting July, BBL and Shakeology. I have been wanting to try a shakeo for a while, fingers crossed the hubby says yes!

My final weigh-in for SI6...
182

I think I could have done better but I am happy with the results. I will continue to lose weight with this program and eating healthy. I am going to be so happy when I get into the 170's, I CAN NOT WAIT!

The 'Eat Your Heart Out' Diet

I found this 7 day cleanse/diet on Pinterest, yes I am an addict. I have been wanting to do this for a month now and decided this is the week.

'Eat Your Heart Out' Diet

Day one you eat as many fruits as you would like and drink your water. I would say this is the hardest day, maybe its just because I am on it? You cant do much with just fruits to make things more fulfilling.

Day two is vegetable day, eat as many vegetables as you would like. You also get to eat a baked potato this day. Try to stay away from the starchy veggies like peas, corn and beans. Dont forget to drink your water!

Day three is day one and two combined, just without the potato.

Day four is banana and milk day, eat up to 8 bananas and drink up to 8 glasses of skim milk. You can also substitute milk for weight watchers yogurt. Drink your water!

Day five you eat as much protein (chicken, fish, turkey, tofu) as you would like with 6 tomatoes. Drink a glass of water with each tomato!

Day six, almost done, eat your hearts content of protein (chicken, fish, turkey, tofu) and vegetables. NO potatoes.

Day seven you eat as much miracle soup as you please.

MIRACLE SOUP

2-3 large onions, chopped
1 head of cabbage, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
5-6 celery stocks, chopped
2 large cans of diced tomatoes
2 pkgs Lipton Beefy Onion Soup Mix

Slightly blend tomatoes in blender and all all the vegetables in a pan add 4-6 cups of water, barley cover the vegetables, cook for about 10 minutes. Stir in the soup mix and cook until vegetables are tender.

Its hard, so far. I cant wait to eat some chicken! Spaghetti squash is for dinner tomorrow night, with tomato and garlic sauce.  Yumm!

I'm busy...

So, I am not blogging as much as I wish. We have had a lot going on and now with just a week away from a two week vacation, planning is going into over haul. We are getting everything that we need together and have started packing already. I am in the last few days of SI6, but I am going to keep at it until we get back from vacation.

I have totally messed up Weigh-in Wednesday, so sorry! I promise to get on track once things settle down around here, probably after we get back. I do get pictures, I just don't get time to post them. I will post some comparison pictures on Wednesday though, just to show a before and after with Slim in 6.

Today I started the cleanse I have told you guys that I was going to do, I will do a whole post on that and  then try to update as it goes. I found it on pinterest and shared it with a friend, she did it and lost almost 10 pounds on it. So a friend *Hi Anna!* and I have decided to do it together.

For some reason my weight has gone up again, I am guessing its muscle? I have gotten better at those planks...haha Right now I am sitting at 188, still ten pounds down from where I started six weeks ago but it could be better. So total I could have lost 20 pounds because after gaining and losing those pounds again I am sitting at 19 pounds lost, when in actuality it is only about 10...kicking myself right now! I really wish I just made more time for working out and making myself eat healthier on those days that my kitchen wasn't available.

He Loves Food

Mother's Day we started the little guy on baby food, some may say its early but the doctor recommended we do it. He has sever GERD and having something heavy in his stomach is helping him keep his food down. He sure does love it...

He loves squash
Big sister loves to help!

...and Miss A decorated cupcakes at Starbucks for Mother's Day, although she ate the cupcake.

Playing Catch-Up

My family has been so busy these past two weeks so I haven't gotten to post much. I missed "weigh- in Wednesday" this past week, but I was able to get some pictures. I will share them in the next few days. My weight loss was kinda put on the back burner. My son has GERD and started spitting up brown, which they think could have possibly been blood, so we have been going to a lot of doctors appointments. I was also in my friends wedding this past weekend and was out of town. I also had to do some things to prepare for that, such as getting my nails done...which was long over due!

I haven't really lost or gained anything, although I did gain two pounds and then sweated them off this weekend. BUT now I am back from the wedding and they changed little man's medication so hopefully things will get easier. I am going in full force again and decided to start working out twice a day like I was the first two weeks, so hopefully that will get me back on track to losing this weight. I am doing the 7-day cleanse starting this weekend (I promise I will share that), so hopefully that will kick start things. We leave for the beach in ELEVEN DAYS for two weeks, long trip but we can really use the relaxation after how hard these past six months have been. We brought in this year with a high risk pregnancy which resulted in getting induced at 36 weeks, E ended up in the NICU and now he has sever GERD. We could really use a break about now and the little dude needs to meet his grandparents.

So get ready for a lot of picture posts in the next few days!
